SEO is the abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization. In short SEO has two elements - on-site and off-site. According a 2009 Marketing Sherpa study the ROI for SEO for both product and service offerings is 68.7% for product sites (from sales directly attributed to clicks) and 69.7% for service sites (from leads generated by clicks). Simply put there is no better long term return on your investment in your business online than SEO.
Having a website, no matter how beautiful or how many bells and whistles it has, is useless without traffic. There are basically two ways to get traffic, you pay for it using advertising, or your site shows up in the search engines when people are looking for what you've got or do. This is something of an over simplification, but gives you the basic idea.
Statistics are interesting things and we believe in looking at trends rather than single studies. That said the figures at the top of the page are by no means universal. However they do reflect the growing trend that has been reported over the last six or so years. What is also consistently true is that sites who have both SEO and PPC (pay per click advertising) or SEM Search Engine Marketing, campaigns report that a significantly higher percentage of their traffic comes from 'organic' search traffic than the paid traffic.
Both strategies have value, but when google itself in 2008 said that the organic search results get an average of 86% of clicks and PPC just 14%, you are missing out on the vast majority of traffic if your site isn't showing up on that first page of search results. An SEO campaign with Hawaii Internet Marketing will get you there. Continuing to do it will keep you there and keep expanding the keywords that your site will show up for.
SEO generally takes longer for results to be seen, but over time will provide the best results for your investment in it. At Hawaii Internet Marketing we thoroughly recommend the investment in SEO and will be happy to talk to you about it's benefits to your business.
